Clones Erne East Sports Partnership Project

Clones Erne East Sports partnership is a cross-border and cross-community entity, which is proposing to develop an iconic and flagship sporting project for the benefit of the Clones (Co Monaghan) and Erne East (Eastern part of Co Fermanagh) areas. The project involves: a 400m running track, a multi-purpose grass playing pitch, a 3G all-weather surface playing ground, track and field facilities, a tennis and basketball area, a number of cricket practice areas, an outdoor bowling green and a main building to accommodate adequate changing and indoor facilities, such as boxing, karate, special needs groups, gym and many more. In addition, the project involves the implementation of a Building Relations Through Sport Programme, which will augment the physical development of the facilities. The Sports Partnership's vision for this project is to provide a project that is founded on sporting principles which promotes active participation in sporting endeavours as being an appropriate vehicle to rebuild contacts, alliances and relationships on a cross-community and cross-border basis, whilst enabling confidence and self-esteem at all levels and the promotion of health and wellbeing of citizens.
