Project Details

Greater Dunmurry Positive Relations Partnership

The project will aim to develop relationships with the communities of Seymour Hill, Dunmurry and Milltown and the Colin Safer Neighbourhood project by developing through the employment of staff good community relations practice and focusing on dialogue across the interfaces as well as promoting mutual tolerance and community cohesion with the ethnic minority groups in both areas through engagement and outreach facilities of the Welcome centre. There has been little or no development of programmes for young people who may be engaged in interface violence and who have never had a chance to engage in dialogue with the people who they are in conflict with. Through the delivery of programmes and the development of a strong community infrastructure along the interfaces the Partner organisations feel that they can make a significant impact towards a shared future in the greater Dunmurry area.
