Project Details

Young Women and Mothers

The project aims to develop a partnership between three communities who have identified a gap in the Peace and Reconciliation process. The problem identified is that of young women and mothers who have not engaged in community peacebuilding structures. Current provision does not attract this group and practitioners on the ground are identifying this group as a hard to reach section of the community that is needed to substantiate peacebuilding (TWN). The intervention will be an engagement at entry level where young women and mothers participate in opportunities to raise their confidence and aspirations for training and employment through a trusting relationship that outlines expectations from the beginning. An external evaluation will provide recommendations for future work.
