Killymoon-Stewart Avenue - Shared Future, Shared Space

Killymoon and Stewart Avenue were prioritised via the development of an Evaluation Framework for Peace building at Interface Areas funded by the SW Cluster Area Peace III Programme. The priority areas were identified by Institute of Conflict Research (Aug 09). The project aims to establish community action in each area to allow peace building to ensure. There are 2 elements to the project which will work in a parallel time frame. The main thrust of the project however is to bring these 2 divided communities together. There is a shared space involved which is currently a very disputed space. The communities separately have felt that work with their young people is a priority. The project will allow these 2 divided communities the opportunity to do peace building work – separately and then together – whilst improving their physical environment.
