Grow North

Working with a range of partners including cross-boarder organisations, Grow North is targeting an area (Waterworks, Westland, Castle) of Belfast that has seen some of the worst of the Troubles and which is still very much a contested space with continuing problems of sectarianism and racism. Grow will engage with both of the main communities and the resident asylum seekers and refugees to create an organic community vegetable garden. This garden will not only produce nutritious food, but will also stimulate social interaction, beautify the space, reduce family food budgets, create opportunities for recreation, exercise, building trust, relationships and confidence between people at a local level.
