Laggan Peace and Reconciliation Project

This is a collaborative project that supports and unites culturally diverse groups in the Laggan area of east Donegal (Burt, Killea, Carrigans, St.Johnston, Manorcunningham and Newtowncunningham). NCDI is the lead partner and will support these groups to achieve their objectives. In working together in this one application we are creating a unique opportunity to reclaim and acknowledge a shared historical and cultural identity, in doing so a real understanding and respect for each other's traditions will finally remove the underlying sectarianism and bigotry that prevails in this area. The vision is to get back to the way things were before the troubles, when all religious and cultural celebrations were celebrated and respected by all.
