DCC - Bealtaine Festival C1

The Regional Cultural Centre and partners will organize a specific series of events as part of the Bealtaine Festival in May 2010 under the banner Bealtaine 2010 Sharing Experiences, in Libraries and Taobh Tire centres, day-care centres, community hospitals, arts and community venues and schools throughout County Donegal that specifically address the priorities of the Peace 3 programme. They will consist primarily of talks, storytelling and creative writing events but will also touch on music, film and historic artefacts and archives and will directly address the culture and history of not only the two main communities but also the new migrant communities in Donegal. The events will seek to promote active participation in civil life by older people, challenge attitudes towards sectarianism and racism, share experiences and histories and develop a greater understanding of the different cultures and perspectives.
