Castlefinn Community Garden

Castlefinn Partnership Initiative plan to develop a community garden. The idea for the garden came about through discussion amongst the Castlefinn Local Area Team which is one of six pilot projects across Donegal with a focus on community development. The underlying ethos to the garden is a community approach to breaking down barriers, challenging prejudices and promoting social gain and health promotion through the mediums of intergeneration, interagency and intercultural and cross community work. The development of the garden will happen through consultation with each active community group in the area. These include: Castlefinn youth Club; The Elderly; Schools; Foreign Nationals; Church Groups; Women’s Groups; Tidy Towns; Castlefinn Partnership Initiative. The result will be a common area for all minorities to have an active role in regardless of colour, creed, disability or status through the promotion of positive social change.
