Taobh Tíre

Taobh Tíre works in partnership with community groups to deliver library services to areas that are too small to sustain a full time branch library. The service is delivered through a network of service points typically sited in resource centres or other community services. A service point comprises a small collection of books with one or more PC with internet access which allows members to access the librarys online catalogue. Members can reserve library stock online and have it delivered to their nearest Taobh Tíre service point. This application will allow us to develop programmes which would facilitate the sharing of experiences of the troubles through storytelling, creative writing and cross generational projects. It would also allow us to promote cultural diversity and anti-sectarianism through our reader development programmes particularly our book clubs. We will also target schools from across the border and engage them in activities during the Wainfest Childrens Book Festival in October.
