Glenfinn Building Bridges

We plan to develop a project that will be both cross community, intergenerational and cross border. The intergenerational project will be a partnership between the children attending our local primary school and the elderly attending the Day Care Centre. The two buildings are on adjacent sites. This will be a history research project. We will also team the elderly group with a similar elderly group in Northern Ireland. There will be exchange visits between these elderly groups as well as both groups going on tours together. We also plan to form a partnership between the local Catholic Church Youth Choir Group and a similar group drawn from the Church of Ireland in the parish. These two groups will rehearse together popular songs such as "you raise me up" with a view to an ecumenical type performance in one of the parish halls. We plan that the intergenerational history will exhibit thier project at this event. We expect that the musical group would perform on a regular basis for the elderly in our Day Care Centre. We also plan to match this musical group with a group drawn fron the Border Arts Company in Castlederg, Co. Tyrone with exchange visit performances and joint tours to other musical performances and concerts.
